Art

Our Art Curriculum, which is accessible to all, maximising the development of every child’s ability and academic achievement in this subject.  It contributes to the development of the whole child, not just creatively but also by exploring aesthetics, emotions, spirituality and intellectual and social themes. Through the use of colour, texture, form, pattern, different materials and processes, it enables children to express themselves and to communicate what they see, feel and think. Art offers children the opportunity to learn about the visual world and how artists throughout history and within different cultures have interpreted it.

During their time at Colney Heath, each child will have their own sketchbook to design, practise and develop their skills and artworks.

• Safely use and explore a variety of materials, tools and techniques, experimenting with colour, design, texture, form and function
• Share their creations, explaining the process they have used
